Front: The National Martyrs' Memorial (Jatiyo Smriti Soudho) at Savar, near Dhaka, commemorating those who died in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. Designed by architect Mainul Hossain and inaugurated in 1982, the monument consists of seven isosceles triangular planes rising to a height of 45 meters, symbolizing the seven stages of the national movement. The note also features the national flower, white water lily (shapla), and a decorative deer motif at lower left.
