Front: The State Bank of Pakistan headquarters building in Islamabad, a modernist architectural complex featuring a distinctive tall tower and lower administrative wings set against the Margalla Hills. The building serves as the central bank's main office, symbolizing Pakistan's monetary authority and economic sovereignty. Islamic geometric patterns appear in the decorative panel at left.

Back: This image shows a Pakistan 10 Rupee note featuring Muhammad Ali Jinnah (1876–1948), the founder of Pakistan and its first Governor-General, known as Quaid-i-Azam (Great Leader). Jinnah was a lawyer and politician who led the All-India Muslim League and the Pakistan Movement, resulting in the creation of Pakistan in 1947. This appears to be from the 2017 issue based on the printed date visible.

The story

Background & history

CRITICAL: These two images are NOT matching front and back of the same note. The first image shows a 500 Rupee note from the old series (P-42, issued 1986–2006) featuring the State Bank building. The second image shows a 10 Rupee note from the current series (2006 onward, P-45l based on 2017 date) featuring Jinnah. The 500 Rupee note was part of the pre-2006 series before the comprehensive redesign that introduced the current uniform Jinnah portrait series. The old 500 was replaced by a redesigned 500 (P-49) featuring Jinnah on front and the Badshahi Mosque on back.
