History

This 10 tögrög note is part of the modern series issued by the Bank of Mongolia (Монголбанк) beginning in 2018, featuring updated security features and designs celebrating Mongolia's cultural heritage. The tögrög (MNT) has been Mongolia's currency since 1925. This low denomination note remains in active circulation despite inflation making higher denominations more common for daily transactions. The 2018 series maintains traditional imagery of horses and national symbols while incorporating contemporary anti-counterfeiting measures. Mongolia's banknotes are printed with bilingual text in Cyrillic and traditional Mongolian vertical script.
