This design was issued immediately following liberation from Axis occupation in 1944, marking the transition from the Partisan provisional government to the federal state structure that would become socialist Yugoslavia in 1945.

The back displays the denomination '50 DINARA' with text in multiple scripts reading 'ПЕДЕСЕТ ДИНАРА' (fifty dinara) and 'SOCIALISTIČKA FEDERATIVNA REPUBLIKA JUGOSLAVIJA' (Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia), reflecting the multilingual character of Yugoslavia. The circular emblem at center contains text commemorating the National Liberation War of Yugoslavia (1941–1945). Warning text at bottom regarding counterfeiting penalties appears in multiple languages. The engravers' names 'M. PETROVIC FEC.' and 'T. KRNAJSKI SC.' are printed at lower corners. This note represents the transitional currency issued during the final phase of World War II in Yugoslavia.

MISMATCHED PAIR IDENTIFIED: The front image shows a 1 Dinar note with the date '1944' printed in the upper right corner, while the back image shows a 50 Dinara note. These are NOT the front and back of the same banknote. The 1 Dinar front belongs to the initial Democratic Federal Yugoslavia (Demokratska Federativna Jugoslavija) issue of 1944, printed during the transitional period as Partisan forces liberated the country from Axis occupation. The 50 Dinara back belongs to a related but different denomination from the same series. This series was issued by the provisional government of Democratic Federal Yugoslavia (proclaimed November 29, 1943, formalized 1944–1945) before the monarchy was formally abolished and the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia (FNRJ) was proclaimed in November 1945. These transitional notes circulated 1944–1946 and were replaced during the post-war currency reform. The coat of arms design—featuring the flaming torch (baklja), symbol of Partisan resistance—was used throughout the DFJ period before being modified for the socialist era. Engravers M. Petrović and T. Krnajski are documented as having worked on this emergency wartime issue.
