What's on the note
Front: Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, a magnificent Italian Renaissance-style royal reception hall within Dusit Palace, Bangkok. Completed in 1915 under King Rama V, the building served as the first permanent house of parliament of Thailand (1932-1974) and now hosts state ceremonies and the Arts of the Kingdom Museum. The hall's name means 'Hall of the Assembled Heavens' and features a distinctive cruciform plan with a central dome.
Back: King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX), who reigned from 1946 to 2016 as the ninth monarch of the Chakri dynasty and the longest-reigning monarch in Thai history. Born in 1927 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, he ascended to the throne following the death of his brother King Ananda Mahidol. Revered as the 'Father of the Nation,' he was known for his dedication to rural development projects and his role as a unifying figure in Thai society. The Garuda emblem of Thailand appears at left.

Background & history
This note belongs to Series 9 (Ninth Series) of Thai banknotes issued during the reign of King Rama IX. The series was introduced in 1969 and circulated until 1978, when it was replaced by Series 10. This was the first series to feature the young King Bhumibol Adulyadej's portrait consistently across all denominations after his coronation in 1950. The 10 baht note was printed by Thomas De La Rue in the United Kingdom, as were most Thai banknotes of this era. The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall on the front symbolizes Thai sovereignty and constitutional monarchy. The series used traditional Thai architectural and royal motifs throughout. These notes are now demonetized but remain popular with collectors as they represent an important period in modern Thai monetary history.
