Where & when
What's on the note
Front: This note displays the Kopje Fountain and State House (formerly Government House) in Harare. The Kopje Fountain, located at the base of the Kopje hill in central Harare, is a notable civic landmark. State House serves as the official residence of the President of Zimbabwe. The Zimbabwe Bird emblem appears at left, representing the soapstone bird sculptures found at Great Zimbabwe ruins, adopted as the national emblem at independence in 1980.
Back: White rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) adult and calf, representing Southern African wildlife. The white rhinoceros is native to the region and is a conservation priority species. This depicts the iconic Big Five wildlife of Southern Africa commonly featured on the region's banknotes.

Background & history
CRITICAL NOTE: These two images are NOT from the same banknote. The front image shows a Zimbabwe 2 Dollars note from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe's post-2019 RTGS dollar series, while the back image shows a South African 10 Rand note from the South African Reserve Bank's 'Big Five' series introduced in 2012. The Zimbabwe note features local landmarks while the South African note features indigenous wildlife. These are mismatched images from two completely different countries' currencies.
